Maya Patrich is an Argentinian-Canadian illustrator, animator, and production coordinator based in Vancouver on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
They specialize in visual storytelling through illustration and animation, blending whimsy and darkness in character-driven narratives. Their interests span background design, character design, and concept development.
Maya holds a Bachelor of Media Arts from Emily Carr University, where they focused on 2D + Experimental Animation and were awarded a Foundation Scholarship.
Their award-winning animated work has screened at numerous international festivals, including the Ottawa International Animation Festival, ANIMATOR Festival, and BITBANG International Animation Festival.
When not drawing, they’re probably baking a burnt Basque cheesecake—or eating it.
